Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

General

1. Is Verardi & Partner Asset Management AG a bank?

No, we are not a bank, but an independent asset manager. Your assets will be deposited with one of our partner banks of your choosing. So that we can successfully implement your investment strategy, we will ask for a power of attorney for external asset manager.

2. What is a power of attorney for external asset manager?

A power of attorney for external asset manager is a limited power of attorney that gives us access to your account and gives us the ability to implement the selected investment strategy. The limited power of attorney is a document of the bank and is signed by you. This power of attorney is limited because it is limited to the implementation and management of your investment strategy.

3. Are you completely free to manage my assets?

No, the basis of your portfolio is your investment strategy, which we develop together before implementation, and which is based on your needs and your financial situation. The investment strategy gives us the guidelines for implementation and is set out in an asset management contract.

Assets

4. Which is the starting amount I need to benefit from your asset management services?

We offer asset management services for initial investment amounts starting at CHF 100,000.

5. Can I reduce or increase my assets invested with you at any time?

Yes, we attach great importance to high liquidity and, if necessary, can make the desired amount available to the relevant current account within a few days. You can also increase your investment at any time. We recommend that you systematically transfer your automatic savings plan to your asset management account so that it is automatically invested.

6. Are my assets blocked for a fixed term?

No, your assets are accessible to you at all times. If your life situation changes and you need to get access to the capital, your assets will be available to you within a few days. It is important at this point, that we do not guarantee a return and that your assets are subject to fluctuations. We will recommend a different investment horizon depending on the investment strategy.

Your investments

7. Which investment instruments do you use?

With fixed assets of CHF 100,000 or more, we implement your investment strategy with funds and ETFs. With fixed assets of CHF 750,000 or more, you have the option of converting the equity in the reference currency into individual stocks.

8. Which asset classes do you consider?

In order to implement your portfolio as efficiently as possible and to align it promptly with the current market situation, our investment strategies have a modular structure. For this purpose, we consider the following asset classes: money market, bonds, stocks as well as real estate and gold as alternative investments.

9. Do you accept kickbacks or the like?

No, we are free of conflicts of interest and offer you access to the world’s best fund managers and investment vehicles. Our fee is based exclusively on the defined asset management fee.

Costs

10. How are the costs to manage my assets calculated?

1. Bank fees for holding your assets on deposit. Thanks to our longstanding relationship with partner banks, we have agreed on an excellent pricing model for you. This is a flat rate that includes all transaction fees for securities. This flat rate also includes custody account management, online banking including online archiving, all foreign currency accounts, and a tax report.

2. Our asset management fee, which is contractually defined and calculated as a percentage of the average invested assets.

3. In addition to custody and asset management fees, there are also product fees as well as value-added tax and stock exchange duties or stamp duty.

11. Is it worth buying a mutual fund?

In addition to the weighting of the asset classes, we attach great importance to the selection of the best products. We therefore put a lot of effort into identifying the funds that generate added value in the form of excess returns. These have to meet our strict quality criteria in order to hold their own against an ETF. Your asset management contract with us will also give you access to exclusive unit classes that are significantly cheaper than the normal class for private investors.

Your portfolio

12. How will I be informed about changes in my portfolio?

The basis is your bank’s online banking portal, where you can obtain insight into the current status of your assets at any time. In addition, we will inform you monthly about current market developments and any changes to your portfolio. Your customer advisor will be happy to answer any questions you may have at any time.

13. I would like to decide on the changes in my portfolio myself. What can I do?

In addition to asset management, we offer individual investment advice for asset account of CHF 2 million or more.
